Meet Carly

Carly is a contemporary artist trained in photography at the Texas Christian University School of Fine Art. The foundation of her artistic practice is derived from her formal training behind the lens capturing composition, light, and color. Carly Spalts’ oeuvre has been built with an evolving vocabulary of composition, color, and mark-making. The creation of gesture movement and abstraction is what drives her work with paint on canvas and paper. In Carly’s efforts to capture light and color in another form outside of photography, each work is uniquely created as a loose interpretation of her worldly surroundings.

Carly lives and works in San Angelo, Texas, with her boyfriend Nathan and their two spaniels, Tango and Happy. Carly’s work has been featured in art gallery installations and shows in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Prior to moving to San Angelo, Carly spent time living and working in Fort Worth, Texas.
